Living Free Fellowship opened its doors on November 13, 1972, but was known at that time as Glad Tidings Assembly of God. It was C.C. Cook, who became the senior pastor on September 16, 1974, who changed the name to First Assembly of God on October 7th of the same year.
As First Assembly of God, the church opened its doors at its new location (233 Riggs Avenue) in February 1977 building a new sanctuary and later adding a new Christian educational wing. Through the years, they have continued to be a leader in their community by loving people and sharing Christ.
In June 2004, First Assembly of God changed its name to Living Free Fellowship.
As a growing church in Portland, Tennessee, they began construction on a third phase of the building in 2012, opening a new welcome center in February 2013. Along with the new addition, a new youth and children’s facility was constructed and opened in 2012 for the purpose of investing in teenagers and children.
As a church of more than forty years in Portland, Living Free Fellowship continues to honor its heritage by preaching Christ and loving the community.
